Distinctivo T Tequila Award

Distinctivo T award is one of the highest honours any establishment can gain when it comes to tequila service.

This special award is given out by the Tequila Regulatory Council and the National Chamber of Tequila Industry. The premise behind the award, which was created in 2003, is that it recognizes businesses that spread the unique culture of tequila and promote the denomination of origin of the Tequila, Jalisco region.

Distinctivo T service providers have to meet strict requirements and the staff within the establishment must go through an official training in order to qualify for one of the three categories. Those categories are 4 Agaves, 5 Agaves and Agave de Oro (Golden Agave), which is the highest standard.

Café Pacifico has gained the Agave de Oro Distinctivo T award where an establishment must serve a minimum of 60 brands of certified tequila and at least 3 dishes with tequila as an ingredient. The staff must take a more extensive training  that includes the history and production process of this spirit of Mexico.

Any restaurant, hotel, bottle shop or bar can be awarded with the Distinctivo T award, and as of right now, Café Pacifico is the only establishment in the UK that has gained any level of the award.
